GREENFIELD, IN — Ruby Christine Cook, 95, of Greenfield, passed away on Sept. 28, 2012, in Greenfield.
Born on May 20, 1917, in Smith County, Tenn., she was the daughter of Walter D. and Viney L. (Sexton) Gann. Ruby graduated from Bowling Green High School and attended the Business University of Bowling Green. She married Forest Victor Cook on Nov. 25, 1950, and worked for RCA and Naval Avionics in Indianapolis. Ruby was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church in Lawrence. She loved to travel all over the world and lived for her children.
Surviving her are her children, Betty Burcham, Mickey Cook and Connie (Randy) Burgin, all of Greenfield; grandchildren, Sally Schwartz, Collette (David) Sutton, Justin Cook, Jennifer (Robert) Flanagan, Summer (Kwenton) Kuhlman and Lucas (Molly) Burgin; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; siblings, Perry Gann, Jesse Gann, Edgar Gann, Goldie Yates, Ruth Yates and Eugene Gann; and grandson, Larry Burcham.
Funeral services were today at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
