Funeral Home: J.C. Kirby and Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane Chapel
Marcella Hensley Webb was born on July 5, 1935, in Park City and went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 1, 2012.
Her parents were the late Herman and Ermine Hensley. She leaves an adoring family that includes Donald, her loving husband of 59 years; her children, Gayla Miller (Jim) of Bowling Green, Rick Webb of Lake Charles, La., and Kerry Webb (Tiffany) of Gallatin, Tenn.; and a brother, Winfred Hensley (Bonnie) of Elsmere.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Amy Buchanan (David), Ashlee Boyd (Johnston) and Matthew Miller of Bowling Green and Stella Webb and Greyson Webb of Gallatin, Tenn. She was further blessed with great-grandchildren, Piper Ann and James Brady Boyd and Beau and Zachary Buchanan. She unconditionally loved her children but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly the light of her life and helped to keep that special twinkle in her eyes.
She was an involved member of this community supporting many activities and, for many years, was a productive employee of the Union Underwear Company, from which she retired.
Marcella was blessed to have been born into a family that manifested God’s love and instilled within her spiritual values that she maintained and nurtured throughout her life. This heritage led her to seek salvation at an early age, and she professed faith in Christ as her personal Savior while attending a revival at Park City Baptist Church. She maintained her faith and, at her passing, was a committed member of Eastwood Baptist Church. She practiced her belief in many ways and was deeply involved with the activities of the Willing Workers Class.
Marcella’s commitment to the service of God, her church and her family was exemplary. For much of her life she was blessed with abundant energy and vitality that she applied in these wholesome ways. Whether she was promoting the work of her church or involved in the activities of her descendants, you could be assured that she would bring her unique zeal and passion to the project at hand. May she rest in peace and enjoy the promises that are in store for believers.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky Inc., 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.
