Nell Elizabeth Willoughby Johnson, 87, died Oct. 5, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Johnson.
Survivors include a daughter, Bobbi Johnson, and a son, Larry E. Johnson, both of Nashville.
Mrs. Johnson was always a loving and caring wife and mother who worked and continuously sacrificed for her family. She was a private-duty nurse who cared for her patients with exceptional care.
The family appreciates the wonderful support of Dr. James Botsko and staff; her private duty caregivers, Darla Nemeth, Shirika Maclin and Tedria Carnahan; Alive Hospice, Michelle James, RN, Janie Taylor, MSW, and Samone Neely, volunteer; and friends Bill Fulks, Roger Pilkington, Nancy Pertl, ASP, and our kind neighbors.
Mrs. Johnson always said: “Don’t bring me flowers after I die. Allow me to enjoy them while I am living.”
Nell would be honored for donations to be given to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203, or Mental Health America of Middle Tennessee, with attention to Aging Services, 295 Plus Park Blvd., Nashville, TN 37217, to help others in the future.
Mrs. Johnson (as did her late husband) donated her body to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
