Thomas Vernon DuVal, 88, of Winston-Salem, N.C., died Oct. 8, 2012, at Brookridge Retirement Community.

Graveside service is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, with military honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard. Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
