Helen Love Wallin, 71, Bowling Green, formerly of Mohave Valley, Ariz., died at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Greenview Regional Hospital.
The Washington, D.C., native was born June 29, 1941. She lived in Birmingham, Ala., before moving to Russellville, where she graduated high school. She attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., and Western Kentucky University. Helen worked in her great-uncle Roger’s chain of grocery stores, Thrifty Mart, then in Laughlin, Nev., as a casino technician. She was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Howard Love II and Jane Laverty Love and the sister of the late Nathaniel Howard Love III.
Helen returned to Bowling Green three years ago to care for her mother, Jane Love. She was very active in her church in Arizona, serving as a Eucharistic minister and continued to be a faithful servant at Christ Episcopal Church in Bowling Green. Helen was a wonderful cook and was enjoying painting as a hobby. She was a recent volunteer at Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
Celebration of life will be at noon Friday at Christ Episcopal Church. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Helen will be cremated and buried next to her mother and father in Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Christ Episcopal Church, 1215 State St., Bowling Green, KY 42101.
Survivors include three sons, Jay William English of Piedmont, Mo., Dennis Ray Russell (Christine) of Sherwood, Ore., and Charles Michael Wallin (Nicole) of Mohave Valley, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Raymond Russell, Dennis Russell Jr. and Charles Michael Wallin Jr.; a sister, Nancy Love Huston (Tim) of Bowling Green; a sister-in-law, Doris Love of Bowling Green; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
