Funeral Home: J.C. Kirby and Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane Chapel
Donald Rex “Red” Brown, 70, of Russellville, passed away at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at an area nursing home.
The Warren County native was born on Dec. 26, 1941, to the late Walter Ewing and Georgie Ann Brooks Brown and was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Brown, and four sisters, Margie Petty, Mollie Ann Warden, Jean Claypool and Shirley Atwell. Red was employed as a salesman at Shook Automotive. He was a member of the Muddy River Baptist Church in Russellville. He loved all sports and was a avid golfer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel, with burial in the Bowling Green Gardens. J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
Visitation is today at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday after 9 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Creekwood Nursing Home Activity Department in Russellville, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, June Milam Brown of Russellville; three stepsons, Kenny Bland of Houston, Jeff Bland of Cedar Hill, Tenn., and Keith Bland of Ramona, Calif.; one stepgrandson; Kyle Bland of Fort Worth, Texas; one stepgranddaughter, Sydney Bland of Antioch, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Barbara Milam of Russellville; one son, Jeffrey Brown of Scottsville; and several nieces and nephews.
