Funeral Home: Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield
Charles Winford Wilson, 74, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at the Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro.
He was born May 10, 1938, in Anneta, the son of the late Claud and Delphia McGrew Wilson.
He was a retired mechanic for the city of Owensboro and was a part-time playground inspector for the city of Owensboro. He enjoyed knife trading, flea markets and fishing.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member and past master of the Stanley Masonic Lodge No. 878, worthy patron of the Stanley Eastern Star No. 253, the Madisonville Shriner Rizpah, a Kentucky Colonel, the AMVETS and a member of the New Harmony United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Daugherty Wilson; three daughters, Charlotte Gibson (Shawn) of Caneyville, Lisa Wilson of Bowling Green and Teresa Wilson of Russellville; two sons, Junior and Ricky Wilson of Leitchfield; his sister, Cuba Watson of Leitchfield; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Charles Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Curtis McGee and Jo Jo Watson will be officiating. Burial will be in McGrew Cemetery. A Masonic and an Eastern Star service will be at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the funeral home.
