Funeral Home: J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel
Bailey “Billy” Hughes, 74, of Drake, passed away at 1:11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
The Warren County native was born on Aug. 27, 1938, to the late Robert and Willie (Hale) Hughes. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Willoughby Hughes, and was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Hughes. He retired from Fruit of the Loom after 30 years and was also employed by the Kentucky State Road Department. He was a member of Old Liberty General Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle and the company of his dog Buddy.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel, with burial at Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Other survivors include a son, Bobby Hughes and his wife, Teresa; a daughter, Barbara Hughes McGuire; two granddaughters, Brittney Hughes Childers and her husband, Brent, and Ashley McGuire, all of Bowling Green; a special niece, Linda Hughes Gregory and her husband, David; a great-niece, Allison Gregory of Rockfield; and a very special little girl, Chloe Wilson.
