Laverne Snider Newton, 88, of Franklin, died Dec. 1, 2012, at a Franklin nursing home.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Franklin First United Methodist Church, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation begins at 3:30 p.m. Monday and at 6 a.m. Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home and continues at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
