Mrs. Comfort was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Meador, the daughter of the late Fannie Clay and Wallace Arterburn.
She graduated from Allen County High School and attended Bowling Green Business College. She was an excellent wife, mother, cook and housewife. Mrs. Comfort was 79 years old at the time of death on Nov. 3, 2012. The death occurred at Superior Assisted Living Memory Care in Niceville, Fla. Mrs. Comfort is survived by her husband of 59 years, George Comfort, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.
Surviving child is Anita DeVuyst of Niceville. Surviving grandchildren are Grant DeVuyst of Juneau, Ark., and Gretchen DeVuyst of Pensacola. Survivors also include a sister, Nancy Adams of Spring City, Tenn. She was preceded in death by siblings Wallace Arterburn and Laverne Beam, and a son, Curtis Neal.
A memorial service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Alvaton at 2 p.m. Saturday. Visitation that day is from noon to 2 p.m.
