Funeral Home: J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel
Mamie Gertrude McGrew Blair, 95, of Bowling Green, died at 6:10 p.m. Dec. 8, 2012, at the Hospice Center.
The Hardin County native was a devoted mother who loved all her children, grandchildren and her entire family. She had a fiercely independent and adventurous spirit. She enjoyed walking her dog, playing bingo and talking to her children and friends. Originally, she was a member of the Delafield Church of Christ and later joined the Community Church of Christ. She was a daughter of the late Samuel Wesley McGrew and Lillie Kate Watson McGrew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Elvie Ree Blair, Frank Wagner and Joseph Richard Blair; three sons, Billy Ray Blair, Lonnie Frank Wagner and Richard Dwayne Blair; and four stepsons, James W. Blair, Junior Blair, Othie E. Blair and Henry T. Blair.
Survivors include four daughters, Elizabeth Faye Elmore, Audrey Dean Carter, Anita Gertrude Miller and Rita Jo Wolfe; three stepdaughters, Joyce Ann Pennington, Dorothy Jean Ignacio and Betty Sue Ignacio; seven sons, William Leroy Blair, Loyd Blair, Bobby Eugene Blair, Joe Neal Blair, Aubrey Dale Blair, Larry Kenneth Blair and Terry Glen Blair; two stepsons, Bobby Floyd Blair and Otis Wayne Blair; 64 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, more than 70 great-grandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren and great-great-stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
