McKinney, Bonnie ‘Dianne’

Bonnie “Dianne” McKinney passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green after a long battle with liver disease.

Dianne was born Dec. 19, 1952, in Bowling Green to the late David Tinsley Neighbors McKinney and Bonnie D. Marshall McKinney. Dianne graduated from Butler County High School and Western Kentucky University. She was retired from the state, working at the toll plaza in Cromwell and working last at Woodbury Post Office. Dianne was a former volunteer at the Morgantown Mission, a charter board member of Butler County Cancer Assistance and a member of Woodbury Methodist Church.

Dianne loved to crochet and knit, but also loved photography, animals and was fortunate to be able to travel and see the world. She enjoyed the yearly “Eagle Weekend” at Land Between the Lakes and went many times with her best friend of many years, Brenda Jenkins.

She was preceded in death by her father, David T.N. McKinney; a brother, David Marshall “Sonny” McKinney; and grandparents, George “Barney” Marshall, Melissa (Whitsett) Marshall and George Tinsley and Ruth Ellen Neighbors McKinney.

In addition to her mother, Bonnie McKinney of Woodbury, Dianne is survived by a sister, Kathy (McKinney) Towe of Woodbury; two nieces, Rachel Leigh Towe of Woodbury and Becky McKinney West and her husband, Chris, of Morgantown; and many other relatives and friends.

In respect of Dianne’s wishes, cremation was chosen with no visitation or funeral at this time. A special service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Morgantown Mission, P.O. Box 580, Morgantown, KY 42261; Humane Society, 2100 L. Street NW, Washington, DC 20037; or in supporting the Gideon Bible ministry, P.O. Box 195, Morgantown, KY 42261.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Chapel.
