Mr. Jesse Gray Lamb, 94, of Franklin, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at The Medical Center at Franklin.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home, where services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard.
A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Jesse Elmer Lamb and Sellie Knight Lamb. He was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon. He worked for Southern States Petroleum for 34 years and retired as manager. Mr. Lamb was a World War II Navy veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of Simpson Benevolent Lodge No. 177. Mr. Lamb and his wife, Eleanor, enjoyed winters fishing in Lake Okeechobee in Florida.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Lamb.
Survivors include five daughters, Sandra Moody and her husband, Jim, Judy Monroe and her husband, Sonny, Carol Clark, Cathy Carver and her husband, Roger, all of Franklin, and Suellen Walton and her husband, Neil, of Woodburn; a half brother, Mike Lamb of Atlanta; grandchildren, Melissa Elmore and her husband, Dave, Danny Monroe, Troy Monroe and his wife, Karen, Cristi Freese and her husband, Dax, Phil Johnson and his wife, Amy, Robbye Link and her husband, Sean, Craig Johnson and his wife, Amy, Tommy Dixon and his wife, Jean, Bobby Dixon and his wife, Tammy, Derek Carver and his wife, Courtney, Josh Link and his wife, Erin, Justin Link and his wife, Christy, and Jacob Walton; 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Crafton Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held Saturday at the beginning of the funeral at 2 p.m.
