Carl Woodley Davis, 53, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away surrounded by his family and friends Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 3:10 a.m. at the Hospice Center of Southern Kentucky.
He was born July 21, 1959, in Bowling Green to the late Woodrow and Mary Evelyn Huffman Davis. He was a medical billings specialist for SunCrest Omni Home Health in Sarasota. He was a General Baptist. He was responsible for forming a rodeo association that was not for profit, which raised money for local charities throughout Florida.
He is survived by his sisters, Rhonda Torrence and Wanda Duncan, both of Bowling Green; nieces, a nephew, great-nieces, great-nephews and a great-great-nephew; as well as hundreds of friends throughout the United States as part of the rodeo family.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the South Union Church in the Sunfish community of Edmonson County. Burial will be South Union Cemetery.
