James Michael “Mike” Glasscock, 65, of Alvaton, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at 2:50 p.m. at his residence.
The Warren County native was born Nov. 14, 1947, to the late W.B. “Boyd” Glasscock and Docia Mildred Jackson Glasscock, who survives. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Jane Glasscock.
He served in the United States Navy and was a retiree of Logan Aluminum, where he was an Op Tech. He is survived by his two sisters, Ann Glasscock of Alvaton and Martha Steele (Robbie) of Plano; his brother, Mitchell Glasscock (Marie) of Alvaton; his two stepdaughters, Lynn Herron (Tracy) of Auburn and Marti Strafford (Ed) of Bremerton, Wash.; a stepson, Greg Smith of Marshes Siding; four stepgrandsons and one stepgranddaughter; two nieces, Michelle Corder (Allen) and Jennifer Glass (Cory) and a nephew, Michael Steele (Melissa), all of Alvaton; a great-niece, Taylor; and four great-nephews, Allen Michael, Mitch, Jackson and Camden.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in the Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
