Gladys Marie Bailey, 91, of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Auburn Health Care.
She was born in Logan County on March 22, 1921, to the late Clifford and Gertrude Belcher Anderson. Gladys was preceded in death by the father of her children, Wilson Bailey; four brothers, Ernest, Curtis, Kermit and Kenneth Anderson; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Bald Knob Presbyterian Church and is survived by two sons, Glenn Bailey and Delanie of Russellville and Maurice “Tooter” Bailey and Shirley of Rockfield; a daughter, Wanda “Polly” Thomason and Leslie of Auburn; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Gladys Bailey will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel, with Bro. Kenny Chyle and Bro. Don Cox officiating and burial to follow in Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel and from 8 a.m. Friday until the funeral time.
