Ray G. Williams, 81, of Scottsville, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Scottsville native was a farmer, former chairman and 24-year member of the Allen County Board of Education, member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, Halfway Lodge No. 852 F&AM and Halfrey Dalton VFW Post 5712, a Kentucky Colonel and U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a son of the late Clay Williams and Nancy Queen Tabor Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Alene Williams of Scottsville; a son, Clay Vincent Williams and his wife, Kathy, of Scottsville; a daughter, Ozelle Hackett and her husband, Lt. Col. Jeff, of Westfield, Ind.; two sisters, Bernadine Morehead of Bowling Green and Nancy Howell of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Jessica Williams, Jackson Ray Hackett and Graham Hackett; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ben Williams and Hollis Williams; and a sister, Ozelle Williams.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Mike Johns officiating, and burial in Liberty Cemetery, with military honors by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20. Visitation is in progress at Goad Funeral Home.
