Funeral Home: J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel
Margaret Carver Hughes, 86, of Bowling Green, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at The Medical Center at 2:42 p.m.
The Barren County native was born June 7, 1926, and preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Willie Frank Hughes; her parents, Joe and Mary Ellen Williams Carver; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Margaret was a homemaker and member of Northside Church of God. The love for her family was only surpassed by her love for God and her church. When able, she was a faithful attendee of all services. She enjoyed camping with her husband and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her son, the Rev. Richard W. Hughes (Marcia) of Harvest, Ala.; a daughter, Joyce Logsdon (Charles Lee) of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Christopher Decker (Shelly) of Bowling Green, Shannon Kennemer (Brian) of Chapel Hill, Tenn., and Dr. Jonathan R. Hughes (Nicole) of Blountville, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Kennemer, Lily Hughes and Ryann Decker; and eight nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel, with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
