David Wayne Alford, 63, of Alvaton, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013.
He was a son of the late John Alford Jr. and Oma Lee Lay Alford and was preceded in death by a sister, Janis Davidson; and a brother, Gregory Alford. He was a retired train dispatcher for CSX, where he was employed for 37 years. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Stum Bluff Muzzle Loading Militia. He was a Vietnam veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Odessa Alford of Alvaton; two sons, Jon Alford (Michelle) of Cummings, Ga., and Seth Alford of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Connor Alford and Cade Alford; two sisters, Linda Bewley (Ralph) of Bowling Green and Barbara Alford of Nashville; four brothers, Rodney Alford and Stephen Alford (Elizabeth), both of Bowling Green, and John Thomas Alford and Bruce Alford (Amy), both of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
