Robert Herschel L. (Poochie) Gregory Jr., 59, of Bowling Green, passed on to be with our Lord on Jan. 23, 2013, at 3:59 a.m. at his residence surround by his loving family.
He was born April 21, 1953, in Simpson County to the late Robert Herschel and Nancy Waldean Gregory. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James David Gregory, JT Gregory and Robert Burr; and four sisters, Frances Rust, Pauline Murphy, Macie Smith and Regina Lockhart. He was a member of Auburn Baptist Church and a construction worker for Huffman Masonary. He enjoyed reading about history, playing the Lotto, bowling and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of two years, Janet Marie Glass Gregory of Bowling Green; a stepdaughter, Ciera Marie Gregory and her fiancée, Tom, both of Richardsville; two sons, Brian Gregory and his wife, Heather, and Chad Gregory, both of Bowling Green; five sisters, Mary McFall of Edmonson County, Pam Swords and her husband, Boddie, of Auburn, Cathy Franklin and her partner, Steve Baker, of Richardsville, Faye Thome of Bowling Green and Libby McPeak of Denver; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Marie Glass of Bowling Green; a sister-in-law, Lori Burns and her husband, Mike, of Auburn; brothers-in-law, Wendell Glass and his wife, Teresa, and Tony Glass and his wife, Kelly, both of Richardsville; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends and relatives who had been by his side during his long and brave fight.
The family wishes to thank each of them for all the prayers and kindness during this time. Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Friday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel, with burial in the Bowling Green Gardens.
