Frances Eaton Cox, 92, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at her residence.

The Clay City native was the daughter of the late William Eaton and Sallie Mahone Eaton, and the wife of the late Preston Cox. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Julia Rigsby, and one brother, Clark Eaton.

Frances was a retired operator for South Central Bell Telephone Co. and served as a WAVE in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a charter member of Living Hope Baptist Church, where she served as church historian and secretary-treasurer for Golden Years Sunday school class for many years. She served her church faithfully and touched the lives of many people.

She is survived by one son, Phil Cox, and his wife, Rhesa, of Collierville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Stuart Cox, Lindsey Cox Inghram and Spencer Cox; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe Inghram and Eli Inghram.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
