Vida Jean VanMeter, 73, of Bowling Green, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of the late Roma Thomas Slaughter and Lora E. Vincent Slaughter and the wife of the late Stanley VanMeter. She was a buyer for Eaton Corp. and a Baptist.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherrie Yearty of Villa Rica, Ga.; a son, Tim VanMeter (Shelly) of Bowling Green; a brother, Roma Slaughter (Carrie) of Rhoda; a sister, Margaret Orton (Bob) of Lexington; and four grandchildren, Nick LaMastus, Lora Coles (Shawn), Jackie VanMeter and Casey VanMeter.
The family will receive friends from noon to 3 p.m. today at the Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
