Carolyn Robinson Thomas, 74, of Trophy Club, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Ethicus Hospital in Grapevine, Texas, after a lengthy illness following complications from meningitis.
Mrs. Thomas was a housewife, house remodeler and actively involved in Women on Missions, and was a Kentucky Colonel.
She was a member of Winfield Heights Baptist Church in Williston, S.C. Her passions were her family, yellow roses and playing cards. She was blessed with three children, all of whom survive: a son, John Yonts (wife Cindy); and two daughters, Dana Robinson (husband Steve) of Drakesboro and Vicki Blancett (husband Larry) of Trophy Club, Texas. Carolyn was the ninth of 10 children. She had 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Allie and Ruby Robinson; brothers, Glen Robinson (wife Margaret) and Thomas Allie Jr. (T.A.) Robinson (wife Cora); and sisters, Hilda Howell (husband Don), June McClearan (husband Jack) and Lois Harper (husband Hugh).
Funeral services will be at noon Monday at Smith Funeral Home in Morgantown, with the Rev. Raleigh Blancett officiating. Burial will be at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of service Monday at Smith Funeral Home.
