Ava L. Meador McIntyre, 71, of Bowling Green, died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 24, 1941, in Hardinsburg to the late Joe and Virginia Haynes Meador. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Ann Dethridge. She retired from Western Kentucky University from the Housekeeping Department. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Henry McIntyre Jr. of Bowling Green; two daughters, Pamala Carter and her husband, Darrel, and Stephanie Dethridge, both of Bowling Green; a son, Joey Dethridge and his wife, Belinda, of Benton; a stepdaughter, Penny Lynn Wallace and her husband, Greg, of Morgantown; a stepson, Henry Allen McIntyre of Fountain Run; four grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; a sister-in-law, Judy Meador of Hardinsburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and after noon Sunday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens.
