William David Coleman, 85, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
Mr. Coleman was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Butler County to the late Estill Coleman and Maudie Cardwell Coleman. He was a member and deacon of Cool Springs General Baptist Church and Cassia Lodge 272 and a Shriner. He was also a Korean War veteran. David was the co-owner of Coleman Brothers Motors, which has been open for the past 60 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
William David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris Coleman; a daughter, Sherry Hall and her husband, Eddie, of Morgantown; a son, Michael David Coleman of Morgantown; two grandchildren, Jacob Hall and his wife, Shanna, and Hollie Coleman, all of Morgantown; a sister, Myrl Burden of Morgantown; three brothers, Glendel Coleman and his wife, Barbara, of Morgantown, Denzil Coleman and his wife, Christine, of Morgantown and Mac Coleman and his wife, Jeanette, of Morgantown.
Funeral service will be at Cool Springs General Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday with Brother David Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon at Smith Funeral Home. He will lie in state from 1 p.m. until time of service at Cool Springs General Baptist Church. A Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
