Robert Patrick “Rick” Markle, 62, passed away on Feb. 4, 2013, on his farm in Monroe County.
The Bowling Green native was born on Sept. 8, 1950, to Robert and Patricia Markle, who both survive. Rick worked as Refining and Water Marketing manager for Champion Technologies, a Houston-based company specializing in energy resource treatment programs.
Rick’s passion was his family and the farm, where he and his wife Teresa live and raise cattle. He always had a smile and a good story to share, and he would give freely of his time, energy, and spirit to anyone in need.
Rick lived his life with an attitude of being blessed beyond what he deserved, and in turn shared of himself to bless others. He also loved fishing and could build and/or fix just about anything.
In addition to Rick’s parents, survivors include his wife, Teresa Markle, of Fountain Run; a daughter, Jessica Seegert and her husband, Paul, and their two sons of Sacramento, Calif; a son, Thomas Markle and his wife, Michelle, of Black Mountain, N.C.; a son, Wilson Markle of Lexington; a sister, Elinor Markle of Bowling Green; a brother, Paul Markle and his wife, Elizabeth, of Bowling Green; his mother-in-law, Mary Parr, of Louisville; and a brother-in-law, Eric Parr, and his wife, Edie, of Louisville.
A memorial and celebration of Rick’s life will take place with family and friends on his farm outside Fountain Run on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
