Louis Herrington, 77, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

The Simpson County native was born March 12, 1935, a son of the late Stanley Herrington and Louise Stinson Herrington.

He was a retired farmer and worked with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. He was a graduate of Bristow High School, served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Riverside Christian Church.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The American Heart Association and the Riverside Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Herrington of Bowling Green; a daughter, Deborah Everley and her husband, Bill, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a son, Gil Brooks and his wife, Judy, of Oakland, Ky.; a sister, Nadine Moore and her husband, Bill, of Gallatin, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Brooke Everley of Birmingham, Ala., Kristen Hoy of Spartanburg, S.C., Julie Towe and her husband, Brad, of Versailles, Daniel Brooks of Bowling Green, Andrew Brooks and his wife, Mary, of Nicholasville; three great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Gordon Long and his wife, Grace, of Plano, Texas.
