Mary Verna Alexander Pippin, 73, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, in Metairie, La. Born in Hiseville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Mary Marcum Alexander, and had resided in New Orleans for a number of years.
Survivors include two children, Darrell Richards and Mary Jo Richards Exposito; six grandchildren, Courtney, Darelynn, Cassidy, Kennidy, Jonathan Alexander and Chaz; two great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Jayleigh; two brothers, Bill Alexander and Glenn Alexander; and a sister, Sue Nell Grider.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Pippin; a brother, Joe Alexander; and a sister, Anna Katherine Strader.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon Sunday.
