Ernesteen J. Childers, 78, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at her residence. Ernesteen was born July 24, 1934 in Butler County to the late Boyd and Effie Hawks Johnson. She was a member of Leonard Oak General Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Childers; five brothers Geoffrey, Leslie, Sonny, Eugene and McClellon Johnson; and a sister, Mavis Shultz.

Ernesteen J. Childers is survived by three daughters, Martha Hunt and her husband, Eddie, of Morgantown, Sandy Sweitzer and her husband, Scott, of Bowling Green, and Theresa Garrett and her husband, Barry, of Glasgow; eight grandchildren, Mareesa Johnson and her husband, Mike, of Morgantown, Terri Amos and her husband, Josh, of Morgantown, Andrew Deweese and his wife, Jodie, of Morgantown, Amanda Lynch and her husband, Jeff, of Morgantown, Felicia Lee of Roundhill, Jennifer Guffy of Tompkinsville, Alexis Gaw and Dakota Gaw, both of Glasgow; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nadine West, of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Tommy West officiating. Burial will be in Fanny Rone Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to the funeral Saturday. Online condolences may be made at www.jonesfuneralchapel.com.
