Roger Glenn Jenkins, 73, of Oakland, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at Vanderbilt Medical Center after a long battle with cancer, which he fought with faith, courage and fortitude.
The Warren County native was a son of the late Horace and Irene Loafman Jenkins and was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard Neal Jenkins and Carlton Jenkins, and a nephew, Greg Piper.
He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church, a retired employee of Firestone Tire & Rubber and Country Oven Bakery and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Kimbro Jenkins; a sister, Louise Piper (Doug) of Phoenix; a brother, Harold Jenkins (Marilyn); and three nieces and nephews, Judy Desmond, Ronald Piper and John Jenkins (Teresa).
Roger chose cremation. Memorial service is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Baptist Church. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
