Mrs. Jennie Lee Sargent, 91, of Elkton, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 12, 2013, at her residence, of natural causes.
Jennie was born May 21, 1921, in Guthrie, the daughter of the late James Henry and Myrtle Bell Atkins Shanklin. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Elkton.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, Walter Sargent Sr.; and four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by a brother, Foster Shanklin of Chicago.
Visitation with the Sargent family will be Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Family Funeral Home in Russellville. Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Elkton, with the Rev. Phillip Suber officiating. Interment will follow in the Elkton Cemetery.
