Betty Ruth Forbes, 73, of Bowling Green died at 2:30 PM, Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Magnolia Village Rehabilitation Center. Betty Ruth was born August 22, 1939, a daughter of the late Eugene and Nellie Baxter Forbes. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Elbert Forbes, Frankie Forbes, and Roy M. Forbes; two sisters-in-law, Nola Forbes and Laurene Forbes; nephew, Robert L. Forbes.
She was a former employee of Union Underwear Company and a cashier for Dixie Cream Donut Company. Betty Ruth also was a farmer and was a member of Barren River Baptist where she held a record of 48 years of perfect attendance.
Survivors include a sister, Frances Forbes of Bowling Green; three nieces, Judy Kay Forbes, Linda S. Forbes and her husband, Mike Veach, and Lisa Threlkel and her husband, Chuck, all of Bowling Green; two nephews, Andy Forbes and his wife, Stacey and William Forbes, all of Bowling Green; two great nieces, Taylor N. Rogers and Ashley Threlkel all of Bowling Green; several cousins; sister-in-law, Betty Sue Forbes of Bowling Green.
Visitation is scheduled from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps and again from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm , Wednesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Barren River Baptist Church Cemetery.
