Shelia K. Whittaker, 58, of Bowling Green, died Sunday, 7:08 p.m. March 24, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
She was born Sept. 6, 1954, in Bowling Green to the late James E. and Alma Johnson Whittaker. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph Michael Estrada Jr.; a sister, Mildred Ruppard; and two brothers, William and Donald Ray Whittaker. She was a former Warren County Jail employee. She was a Baptist. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her sons, Joseph Michael and Carlos James Estrada, both of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Lilly, Kaylee, Carly and Aiden; her sisters, Ann Williams of Arizona, Martha Wimpee (Larry) of Bowling Green, Brenda Shuttleworth (Wayne) of Smithville, Tenn., and Sharon Whittaker (Doug Cline) and Dorothy Anderson (Donnie), both of Bowling Green; brothers, James “Jr.” Whittaker of Bowling Green, Billy Whittaker (Barbara) of Nashville, and Dewayne Whittaker (Elizabeth) and Wallace Whittaker (Brenda), both of Russellville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel, with burial in Goshen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel.
