Evalyn Simmons Constans, 83, of Bowling Green, entered into rest March 30, 2013, at 6:15 p.m.
A native of Gainesville, Fla., she was the daughter of the late G. Ballard Simmons and Evalyn McNiel Simmons. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, H. Philip Constans Jr.; two daughters, Cathy Constans Cheak and Debbie Constans Thompson; and a brother, Ballard Simmons Jr.
Evalyn is survived by two daughters, Leigh Constans Pierce of Bowling Green and Phyllis Constans Whitfield (Wade) of Madisonville; three sons-in-law, Joe Cheak of Douglasville, Ga., Warren Thompson of Richland, Wash., and Darell Pierce of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren, Mandie Hardeman (Ronnie), Erin Cheak, Mary Miller, Matt Thompson, Amy Spier (Jeremy), Logan and Meredith Whitfield; three great-grandchildren, Olivia and Avery Hardeman and Kevin Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Evalyn was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Western Kentucky University Faculty Wives and volunteered with the American Cancer Society. She was a graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in education.
A memorial service will be Friday at noon at Christ Episcopal Church, with inurnment to follow in Christ Episcopal Church Prayer Garden. Visitation will be Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to Christ Episcopal Church or The American Society.
