Lois Shoemake, 87, of Bowling Green, died April 16, 2013, at Magnolia Village.

She was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. She was married to Carl Shoemake for 45 years before his passing in 1990.

Survivors include four sons, Jimmie Shoemake (Melinda), Terry Shoemake (Sharon), Kenneth Shoemake (Marilyn) and Joe Shoemake (Gina); two daughters, Debbie Blanque and Diane Wharton (John D.); two sisters, Frances Belcher and Edith Mae Bobbitt; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Tuck Cemetery. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
