Marjorie (Margie) Elizabeth Garretson Rector of Bowling Green was born Jan. 30, 1926, and died April 16, 2013.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, W.W. (Bill) Rector; one son, Steven; a sister, Ruth Ford; and parents, the Rev. J.N. and Pearl Garretson.

Margie is survived by her twin sister, Margaret Croslin; five children, Wendell Rector and his wife Faye, Winfred Rector (Debbie), Kenneth Rector (Dee), and Jerry Rector, all of Bowling Green, and Linda Kirby (Jerry) of Westmoreland, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Margie was a devout member and supporter of Cassidy Free Methodist Church for over 60 years. Margie worked with her father at J.N. Garretson Painting and Contracting and continued the business for 30 years after his death. Margie was a devoted mother, housewife and loved her family, gardening, flowers and baking.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Margie will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to New Life (Cassidy) Free Methodist Church, 9016 Cemetery Road, Bowling Green, KY 42103.
