Curtis Hewitt of Bowling Green entered into rest April 26, 2013, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Bowling Green, he was the son of the late Curtis Sr. and Mary Hewitt. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Maude Hewitt.
Curtis is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alene Robertson Hewitt; two daughters, Judy Hewitt of Plano, Texas, and Kathy Pearson (Ronnie) of Alvaton; two grandchildren, Glenda Sattler (Mark) of Plano, Texas, and Brad Harper (Lorie) of Alvaton; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Hayden and Hannah Sattler and Wyatt Harper and Morgan Hewitt Harper; and her brother, Paul Hewitt, of Indiana.
Curtis was a member of Cassidy Free Methodist Church and was a retired Warren County Deputy Sheriff. He was a member of the F.O.P. Lodge 13, was a lifetime member of the NRA and was a Kentucky Colonel. Curtis was a fifth generation farmer and was raised on the farm by his grandparents. He was a loving Daddy and “Papa.”
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, with burial to follow in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. Monday until the funeral hour at 1 p.m.
