Mrs. Eleonore E. Bailey, 66, of Bowling Green, a native of Amberg, Germany, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.
Eleonore was a Catholic by faith. She was a former employee of Field Packing Co. and Fruit of the Loom. Eleonore enjoyed bingo, sewing, horseback riding and loved to watch “Golden Girls.” She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Fischer; and a sister, Hildegard Spies.
Eleonore is survived by her husband of 47 years, John H. Bailey Sr.; daughters Angela (Barry) Prude and Ruth Byrd, both of Bowling Green; a son, John (Kathy) Bailey Jr., of Bowling Green; grandchildren Kela, Shantell, Toynika, Iesha, LaKoi and Xzaveion; great-grandchildren Azariah, Armani and Elijah; a brother, Werner Fischer, of Glucksburg, Germany; a host of nieces, nephews and loving in-laws; and a special friend, Alene Caulfield, of Bowling Green.
Arrangements are being handled by Burnam & Son Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Seventh Street Baptist Church, with internment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
