Louise Pennington, 92, formerly of Owensboro, died May 5, 2013, at The Rathbone in Evansville, Ind.
She was born Aug. 12, 1920, in Bowling Green to the late Frank and Nellie Atchley. She retired as the owner and operator of Pennington Baldwin Piano Store. She was a past member of Third Baptist Church, where she was a teacher of the Vota Vita Sunday school class, and was also a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Evansville. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and of the Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Allen C. Pennington, on July 16, 2008; by a son, Rudy Pennington, on Oct. 13, 2002; by a grandson, Michael Wayne Pennington, on Jan. 15, 1995; and by a sister, Anna Myrle Wilson.
She is survived by a son, Gary Pennington (Peggy) of Evansville; two granddaughters, Penny Pennington (Darrell) and Tabitha Baker (Steven); five great-grandchildren, Jacqueline, Charlie, Indica, Michael and Alex; a brother, Horace Atchley of Louisville; and two sisters, Clara Reiter and Virgie Grimes, both of Bowling Green.
Services are at noon Wednesday at the chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
