She was born in Hindman and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Beatrice Stamper. She was predeceased by a brother, Manford Stamper. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and loved listening to country music that reminded her of her roots in eastern Kentucky.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Steve and Bea Torrence of Union; daughter and son-in-law, Matthew and Beth Abbott of New Windsor, Md.; and son John Potter Jr., of Tullahoma Tenn. She had eight grandchildren, Lindsay, Tyler, Cody, Adrianne, Megan, Johnathan, Madison and Hadley; one great-grandson, Connor; two sisters, Jessie Hatcher of Shepherdsville and Betty Weatherly of Petersburg; and two brothers, George Stamper of Leitchfield, Ohio, and Clarence Stamper, of Hindman.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hindman Funeral Home in Hindman. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
