Eugene William Welcher, 88, of Bowling Green, formerly of Newark, N.J., entered eternity June 8, 2013, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon at Christ United Methodist Church, followed by a memorial service at noon. Private burial will be in Fairville Cemetery in Fairville, N.Y.

Mr. Welcher was born the son of the late Harold and Lois (Lee) Welcher on Monday, May 18, 1925, in Arcadia. He was a 1942 graduate of Newark High School. As a laborer, he worked for George A. Robinson in East Rochester, retiring in 2005. Mr. Welcher was a life member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and gardening and overall the great outdoors.
Mr. Welcher will be remembered by his sons Harold (Nancy) Welcher of Newark, Timothy (Cheryl) Welcher of Kentucky and Christopher (Jessie) Welcher of Florida; daughters Tammy Fredler of Florida and Courtney (John) Graham of Newark; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a nephew.
Mr. Welcher was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Fannie (Cole) Welcher, on Jan. 27, 2008; and a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Marion Welcher.
