Wilhelmina “Billie” Burnam Butts, 83, of Bowling Green, died July 2, 2013.
Billie was a graduate of State Street High School and a graduate of Madame C.J. Walker School of Cosmetology and Vocational School. Billie attended Simmons Bible School, Freelandice Institute – Liberal College. Billie was employed by South Central Bell for more than16 years. Billie was owner and operator of “Billie’s Beauty Shop” for more than 60 years. Bille was a member of Our Lord’s Temple Apostolic Church.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Claude E. Burnam Sr. and Isabell Morrow-Williams; her daughter, Linda Proctor; brother Claude E. Burnam Jr.; grandparents Katherine Austin, Carrie and James Morrow, Lena Bland and Arthur Burnam.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Burnam & Son Mortuary Inc. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with interment at Fairview Cemetery. www.burnamandsonmortuary.com.
Billie is survived by her children, William Walker Jr., Tommy (Judy) Walker, Carrie Sabrina Spillman, Lisa (Johnny) Burton, Shawna Stovall and Robin (Gerald) Martin, all of Bowling Green; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Carmen Burnam, Cedric (Judy) Burnam, Claudia Burnam, Kelly Burnam (Dorian) Lee, all of Bowling Green; several great-nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends; and special caregivers Loretha Withrow, Rose Mary Alexander and Keesha Lawson, all of Bowling Green.
