Lillian Henderson Givens, 77, of Bowling Green, entered into rest July 14, 2013, at her residence.
A native of Morgantown, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ruby Peay. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Lewis Henderson, and her son, 1st Lt. Robert Lewis Henderson II.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Cortland Givens of Murray; daughter Jackie Hawkins and son-in-law Joel Hawkins of Bowling Green; daughter-in-law Lisa Henderson of Bowling Green; two stepsons, Harold Givens of Paducah and Mike Givens of Murray; two grandchildren, Jackson Hawkins and P.J. Henderson; and stepgrandson Dylan Givens.
Lillian was a member of Rockfield United Methodist Church and worked as a bookkeeper at Deemer’s Florist for 30 years. Lillian loved taking care of her family, customers at Deemer’s and animals. There was never a stray that couldn’t find a home at Lillian’s.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Rockfield United Methodist Church. A private inurnment will be in Bowling Green Gardens. The family will receive guests from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the church.
