Vonell Oliphant, 72, of Bowling Green, passed away at 8 p.m. July 15, 2013, at her residence.
She was born in Butler County on March 30, 1941. Vonell was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Gladys Romans, and a brother, Alton Romans.
Vonell was a retired mail clerk from Fruit of the Loom and a member of the Church of Christ faith. She loved to fish, loved her flowers and especially loved to cook.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Arthur Oliphant; a stepdaughter, Dottie Babits (Cliff) of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two stepgranddaughters, Rachel Parker and Amanda Hickman, both of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel, with visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bowling Green Gardens.
