Bobby Ray Ammons, 70, of Bowling Green, died July 23, 2013, at his residence.

The Bassett, Ark., native was a son of the late Virgil Did and Etter Maxine Thompson Ammons and is preceded in death by a son, Bobby Dwayne Ammons. He was a retired inspector with General Motors and a member of the National Street Rod Association.

Survivors include his children, Shawn Ammons, Johnnie Sampson (Judy), Tommy Sampson and Amanda Smith (Thomas); six grandchildren, Bobby Ammons, Abigail Ammons, Latasha Sampson, Ashley Sampson, Noah Smith and Allen Smith; two sisters, Betty Woods and Louise Lauderman; one brother, Lonnie Beasley; one uncle, Dallas Ammons; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo., with burial in Stanfield Cemetery.
