Dewey Chester Stancil, 77, formally of Kathleen, Ga., passed away Aug. 13, 2013, in Bowling Green.
He retired from Anchor Glass in Georgia, was a former member of the National Vintage Racing Association, and was a Veteran of Foreign War. He was born June 3, 1936, in Plant City, Fla., to the late Robert and Allie Stancil. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosa William Stancil, and six brothers and sisters.
He is survived by sister Lucille Stanfill of Ruski, Fla.; six sons, Mike Stancil of Baxter, Tenn., Randy Stancil of Baxter, Tenn., Joey Stancil and his wife, Bobbie, Robby Stancil of Baxter, Tenn., Greg Stancil of Pelham, Ga., and Billy Stancil of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter Angie Clubb of Monterey, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, with funeral at 10 a.m. Friday, all at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
