MORGANTOWN — William Paul “Bill” Hampton Jr., 72, of Morgantown, passed away Aug. 26, 2013, at his residence.

Bill was born April 2, 1941, in Butler County to the late Paul and Margaret Penick Hampton. He was a member and elder of Morgantown Church of Christ. Known by his students as “Mr. Bill,” he was an agriculture teacher and FFA adviser at Butler County High School from 1978 to 2000. He was also a farmer, active in the Butler County 4-H, Butler County Extension Service Office and Kentucky Retired Teachers Association.

William Paul “Bill” Hampton Jr. is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Kay Hampton of Morgantown; three sons, David Hampton of Phoenix, Ariz., Mike Hampton (Jill) of Rogers, Ark., and Steve Hampton (Keila) of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Blake Hampton of Rogers, Ark., and Hayden, Audrey, Houston, Rebekah and Harrison Hampton of Morgantown; one great-granddaughter, Marlee Klaire Hampton of Rogers, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Florence Hampton; three nephews, Tommy Hampton (Cheri), Eddie Hampton (Ellie) and David Hampton (Diane); two nieces, Carol Girkey (Mark) and Karen Issacs (Shawn); two great-nieces and seven great-nephews; one great-great-nephew; and two cousins, Paul Freeman Annis of Morgantown and Rita Eden of Hartford.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morgantown Church of Christ, with Bro. Roger Worley and Bro. Brian Eadens officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at the Jones Funeral Chapel and from 10 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the church.
