Funeral Home: J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel
Eva Gayle Charlton, 47, of Bowling Green, passed away Sept. 23, 2013, at The Medical Center at 6:34 p.m. after a long battle with lupus.
Eva was born Oct. 11, 1965, in Franklin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Junior Slack and Ester Elizabeth Reccord Slack, as well as one sister, Betty Slack.
Eva was a housewife and attended Martha’s Chapel General Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Allen Kent Charlton; a son, Michael Holleman (Amanda) of Franklin; two sisters, Mary Ann Mendec (Jose) of Gallatin, Tenn., and Sara Jane Estes (Billy Alford) of Edmonson County; a half sister, Valarie Slack of Tennessee; two brothers, Luther Slack of Bowling Green and Boone Slack (Mary Elizabeth) of Franklin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wendell and Anna Mae Charlton of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Shayla and Gavin Hammonds and Noah Ellis; brother-in-law, Brent Charlton (Darlene) of Bowling Green. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Martha’s Chapel Cemetery.
