Garnett “Marion” Lee, 80, of Auburn, passed away Sept. 25, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. He was born in Logan County on April 10, 1933, to the late Fred and Willie Pauline Hinton Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dortha Jean Robertson Lee; two brothers, John and Robert Lee; and two sisters, Willie Lee and Roberta Montgomery.
He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where he served as trustee and a Sunday school teacher. He was a retired foreman from Graham Manufacturing. He made and refinished furniture, served the Auburn Rural Fire Department for 33 years and was assistant fire chief and a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by one son, Gary Joe Lee and Ann of Auburn; three daughters, Lori Brown and Michael of Auburn, Dana Ashby and Clint of Auburn and Tina Campbell and Brad of Auburn; one brother, Junior Lee and Lillian of Auburn; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Marion Lee were Saturday in Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel, with Bro. Nick Stamps officiating. Burial followed in Auburn Cemetery.
The family requests donations to Hosparus, 3532 Ephraim McDowell Drive, Louisville, KY 40205-9890.
Pallbearers were Brandon Ashby, Sean Brown, Keenan Brown, Christopher Clarke, Michael Chesnut, Caloeb Gandy, Matt Coleman, Nathan Powell and Daniel McGuire.
