Wilma Lucille (nee Shelton) Grimes, born June 30, 1942 in St. Louis, formerly of House Springs, Mo., died Oct. 3, 2013, at The Medical Center.
Wilma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Wilma loved Jesus and was a born again Christian. She was a member of Hillvue Heights Church in Bowling Green, where she has resided for the past 32 years. Wilma retired from Autotruck Federal Credit Union.
Wilma was the daughter of Myrtle May (Masters) Shelton and Benjamin Wesley Shelton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother Daisy Shelton; a brother, Ray Shelton; three stepsisters, Helen Storey, Bessie Snider and Barbara Hopson; three stepbrothers, Robert, John and William Bounds; three sisters-in-law, Betty Parker, Connie Serwatka and Ludy Strecher; and a great-grandson.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Cletis (Buddy) Grimes; two sons, John Wesley (wife Linda) and Timothy Shawn Grimes; grandsons Joshua and Christopher Grimes; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Canter; a brother, Wesley Shelton; three stepbrothers, David, Jack and Joe Bounds; three sisters-in-law, Sue O’Connor, Retha Bronson and Pam Green; two brothers-in-law, James and Tom Grimes; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and special cousins; two precious aunts and many dear friends.
A celebration of Wilma’s life was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill, Mo. Service was at 10 a.m. today at Chapel Hill Mortuary, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
